SUMMARY:Nonviolence Training: Become a Revolutionary of Love
DESCRIPTION:DESCRIPTION\n\n\n\n\nWhat is nonviolence and why does it matter now more than ever? Come embark on both an experiential and didactic training series demonstrating the power of nonviolence at this historic moment.\n\nWe will break the myths and stereotypes of nonviolence\, explore our own inner landscape that creates limitations\, othering\, and violence within and without\, and train to be nonviolent revolutionaries of love.\n\nThis training is part of a four part series. It is an intensive training drawing upon Gandhian nonviolence\, Richard Gregg\, Gene Sharp\, as well as other nonviolent theorists including teacher/trainer Rev. Felicia Parazaider.\n\nThe first two training workshops (September 8 and October 6) will be focused on the inner work of nonviolence. The following two (November 17 and December 1) will be focused on the outer work of nonviolence.\n\nATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR ALL 4 TRAININGS.\n\n\n\nAbout the Rev. Felicia Helen Parazaider\, nonviolent teacher/trainer:\n\nRev. Felicia Helen Parazaider attended the Chaplaincy Institute for Arts and Interfaith Ministry\, and was ordained in March 2012. She holds degrees from University of California Berkeley in both Religious Studies and Peace & Conflict Studies\, and has completed training programs in Spiritual Psychology and Tree of Life Teachings. Rev. Felicia is a certified Reiki Level l II practitioner and Pace e Bene (Pace e Bene nonviolent service) Nonviolent Trainer. She has ministered extensively to drug addicts and alcoholics\, both on the streets of Los Angeles and in the Bay Area. For several years she served as a Hospitals & Institutions (H&I) chairperson\, in charge of taking panels of recovering alcoholics into USC County Hospital to carry the message of recovery. She also worked at Kaiser Hospital Oakland and Walnut Creek as a chaplain during her Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training. Her more academic work has led her to teaching classes in nonviolence and meditation at UC Berkeley.\n\nShe is a self-described radical sacred activist\, traveling to India and the Middle East on peace delegations\, walking over 200 miles through the Nevada desert against nuclear proliferation and for peace\, as well as being arrested several times for participating in nonviolent civil resistance against drone warfare. Her greatest passion and commitment has been launching a truly inclusive\, diverse ministry. In December 2012\, Rev. Felicia founded ULTREYA an inclusive\, diverse ministry and movement that focuses on the inner and outer work through the power of nonviolence. The Revolution of Love Revivals\, The Prayer Rope and The Love Challenge are all branches of the ministry\, specifically designed for people to begin this transformative process for themselves and this planet. After over 150 multi-faith/multicultural services in the Bay Area alone\, Rev. Felicia has taken the ministry to Southern California.
